New toys for the InstantSpot guys (aka 2 new Dell Ubuntu Laptops)
A little background on our current hardware... Dave and I both have been running second hand, borrowed, etc equipment to develop on. Low resolution, limited resources, etc.
Until now that is!
Not too long ago, Dell began selling a line of computers with Ubuntu Linux as the operating system. Whats this? Sweet new hardware, open source OS, great price, low monthly financing?
World Wild Web Systems Inc. just HAD to get some of that action. Today I ordered Dave and I each a brand spanking new Inspiron E1505N laptops.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo, (T7200) 4MB cache/2.00Ghz
Display: 15.4" UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WSXGA+
Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300
...And other miscellaneous awesomeness.

Sure thing Jim. I can tell you now that it comes with an Intel Pro wireless card which in my experience has always worked perfectly well on any previous Ubuntu install.

Sweet!! You'll love them, I have 17 wide-screen Dell laptop, but if I had the chance to do it over again I'd go with the 15.4 wide-screen. The 17 is just TOO big to care around comfortably. I looked the other day for a Linux laptop on Dell and couldn't find it, is it under small biz? How much were they if you don't mind me asking. Oh and how much RAM??

The laptops start at $599 (they have $200 off right now). We ended up going for the 4yrs warranty/accidental so the price topped out around $1500 each.
